In the spring of 2008 System Scale Corp was involved in the repair of a Mettler Toledo Coupled In-Motion Railroad scale (CIM) located at Ameristeel in Jackson, TN. A CIM scale is designed to work as part of an in-motion rail weighs system; this is the most time and cost efficient method of obtaining railcar weight. But the most important thing about this system is the foundation, it has to be stable. Upon initial testing we found that the scale foundation was unstable causing the scale not to function at all. We found this out midweek. We informed the customer Ameristeel Jackson TN. that the foundation was moving and had to be stabilized before the scale would function properly. At that time Ameristeel contacted Ram Jack Foundation Solutions. Ram Jack was on site that same week; they worked through out the weekend using the Ram Jack system to stabilize the scale foundation. The following week the Rail inspector along with our company were able to test and calibrate the sale well within standards.

Our crews worked thru the night for three days to complete the job and avoid huge costs due to sending steel to another certified scale and back.

The job was successfully completed and the on site calibration car provided by the rail road was able to certify the scale and put the yard back in production.
