Martin TN, C. E. Weldon Public Library

A buried window coupled with cracked brick walls caused leakage in basement area of Martin TN Library. Ram Jack was called in to evaluate the problem and awarded the repair contract. Work began with crews excavating the surrounding walls and found the buried window and cracks in the old bricks. All cracks were filled with cement and the buried window was bricked up. Then all walls were cleaned and waterproofing was applied, two coats were put on to give a good coverage and proper thickness to the waterproofing applied. After waterproofing was applied and dried, a plastic barrier of 15 mil. was applied as added protection. A drain pipe enclosed in a filter cloth was installed into the bottom of the drain, rock was poured over the piping to allow water easy access to the drain pipe. After the rock another filter cloth was installed to keep dirt from entering the rock area and then the remainder of the drainage system filled with dirt. All excavated areas were seeded and straw was applied to keep dirt from washing.
